What I learned from each rejection:n

• Rejections 1–3: My applications were generic and could have been written by anyone
• Rejection 4: I was specific but not specific enough about impact
• Rejection 5–6: Strong applications but the competition was exceptionally high that year
• Application 7 (successful): Completely rewritten — personal, evidenced, honest about failures and what I learned from them
