Legal protections — check these before signing:n

• Confirm your deposit is protected in TDS, DPS or MyDeposits within 30 days of payment — this is a legal requirement
• Check whether bills (gas, electric, broadband) are included or extra
• Read the break clause — many student tenancies have none
• Get the landlord’s full name and address in writing — they are legally required to provide this
